2025 SAKI TTA Behaviorally Focused Suspect Interviewing and Trauma Informed Victim Engagement Training

February 18-19, 2025

The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), in partnership with RTI International, are excited to announce the 2025 Behaviorally Focused Suspect Interviewing and Trauma Informed Victim Engagement Training, supported by Grant No. 15PBJA-23-GK-02259-SAKI. This two-day training is scheduled to take place in Phoenix, AZ on February 18th-19th.

The Behaviorally Focused Suspect Interviewing portion will delve into advanced interviewing techniques, focusing on understanding the psychological aspects of interviewing suspects and the importance of credibility and evidence in the process. Participants will engage in practical exercises and learn from the extensive experience of former FBI agents.

The Trauma Informed Victim Engagement portion will feature presentations on the neurobiology of trauma, victim advocacy, survivor perspective, law enforcement considerations, and vicarious trauma. Attendees will also have the chance to practice trauma-informed interview techniques in scenario-based practice sessions.

This is a closed event for National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) grantees. SAKI sites may use the link below to register. Each SAKI site may register up to three attendees.

Registration will close at 11:59pm ET on Friday, February 7th, 2025.
