A strong multidisciplinary approach to sexual assault provides a victim-centered response for survivors, while increasing coordination and public safety. These tools can be used to develop a multidisciplinary team or Sexual Assault Response Team for the first time or strengthen existing practices. Explore the benefits of working across disciplines, learn from the experiences of existing teams, and find out what role each discipline can play in a coordinated, community response to sexual assault.
Funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative aims to create a coordinated community response that ensures just resolution to sexual assault cases. Through this program, funding is provided to support multidisciplinary community response teams engaged in the comprehensive reform of jurisdictions approaches to sexual assault cases resulting from evidence found in previously unsubmitted sexual assault kits.
