Conviction rates alone fail to capture the unique challenges in sexual violence cases, the victim’s experience with the criminal justice system, and the strengths and opportunities for improvement in prosecution. At the conclusion of this presentation, participants were better able to identify promising cold case sexual assault prosecution strategies, integrate performance measures into existing data systems and develop strategies to measure prosecutorial effectiveness beyond conviction rates.
